Personal Area Network (PAN) or Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN): An electronic communications envelope that allows for the communication between small personal data devices. These devices can be watches, cell phones, portable computers and printers, PDAs and electronic business cards. It is envisioned that these small communications networks would not extend much beyond the perimeter of an individuals body.

Practical uses of WPANs include: touch free unlocking car entry (already being advertised by one car maker), keyless home entry, electronic business card exchange by a handshake, and sending laptop generated business reports to a local printer or to cell phones for further routing/transmission, and consumer electronics that recognize each individual user. Bluetooth headsets and wireless mouses are the most common examples of this expanding technology.

Back in the day we used to call devices connected to a network that either facilitated or participated on a computer network "nodes". Nodes were like airports that received passengers getting on new flights or transferring from incoming flights and then being sent (or routed) on to their destination.

Just like on the internet, these nodes (the equipment is called routers), send the information(packet) along it's merry way to it's final destination. As important as these nodes/routers are, they would have no purpose if there was no information generated for them to send. Hence we have the most often over looked yet most important part of any network... the device that assimilates, collates, processes and puts into a usable format the information making it usable for other devices on the network.

You are a node connected to the network of humanity. You are a node that collects, assimilates, processes and puts into a usable format information that you can use. And if you so choose, you can serve as a router to send along the information that can be used by the rest of humanity. Or more commonly used by your local network/community of family, friends, acquaintances and so on.

As discussed in another area of this site, when you bake the bread(information), without the help of others, you earn total freedom in determining who you decide to route your information to.

For a node to be a node it must be defined. Heh? Well Duh...

If a node on a network is:

(A) Unable to differentiate itself from other nodes on the network,
(B) Does not know it's location on the network,
(C) Does not know it's capabilities,
(D) Does not know the extent of it's reach on the network,

it won't be much use...

"Hey You! ---Incoming Packet---"

(A) "Who Me? Who Am I?"
(B) "Where Am I?"
(C) "What Can I Do?"
(D) "What Is My Purpose?"

Kim Possible through her dedication to Her self and strength of Her character, which is the "Nature of Kimness", always doing what is right, providing the example and the leadership for others to follow.

(A) Honor, Self
(B) Focus, Family
(C) Humility, Confidence
(D) Responsible, Grounded, Innocence

More than a reliable fully functioning node, Kim is a "Hub" on the network....
Kim is the Hub on the network for all those who chose Good over evil.
