"Today's Kids are way over schedged.", Mr. Dr. Possible.

Same can be said for today's adults. Time is the limiting factor. If we could expand the time within hours or add to the number of hours in a day, we could always complete what we had scheduled. But hours cannot be lengthened and hours can't be added to the clock. So in order to accomplish the goals you have to set for the day with out skipping any; There are two options:

  • Accomplish each task with efficiency deleting distractions and unnecessary steps. And two,
  • Be organized and accurate with your plan of action.

There are many templates that exist for creating a plan of action. For example:

Ten Steps To Success(1)

  1. Establish your priorities and make appointments with yourself in your day planner.
  2. Highlight tasks or appointments in your day planner that you must be complete that day, including eating properly and exercising.
  3. Look for ways to incorporate more exercise into your daily routine. Every little bit counts.
  4. Practice saying the word "no."
  5. Be firm and do not apologize for problems that are not your own.
  6. Don't feel pressured into saying yes, if you are not sure how a task will affect the rest of your schedule.
  7. Identify your own personal time thieves and evaluate why you say yes to their repeated demands for your time.
  8. Write a list of everything that needs to be done outside and inside the home. Have a family meeting to discuss the household duties and allow others to choose what tasks they want to do each week.
  9. Post the list and review it regularly.
  10. Do not revert to completing other people's tasks unless there is a specific reason to do so and they are make aware of your help.

One of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America still contributes to his Nation's greatness with the following thoughts on Practicality. - Benjamin Franklin's Thirteen Virtues:

1. Temperance: Eat not to dullness and drink not to elevation.

2. Silence: Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself. Avoid trifling conversation.

3. Order: Let all your things have their places. Let each part of your business have its time.

4. Resolution: Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve.

5. Frugality: Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself: i.e. Waste nothing.

6. Industry: Lose no time. Be always employed in something useful. Cut off all unnecessary actions.

7. Sincerity: Use no hurtful deceit. Think innocently and justly; and, if you speak, speak accordingly.

8. Justice: Wrong none by doing injuries or omitting the benefits that are your duty.

9. Moderation: Avoid extremes. Forebear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.

10. Cleanliness: Tolerate no uncleanness in body, clothes or habitation.

11. Chastity: Rarely use venery but for health or offspring. Never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another's peace or reputation.

12. Tranquility: Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.

13. Humility: Imitate Jesus and Soctrates.

Remember: Now matter how busy you are... you should schedule some Leisure time.
Rest, relaxation and fun entries in your schedge are as important as other entries in your schedge.
Your Goal is not to complete the schedule, the schedule is only a tool to reach your Goals.
