within
the bounds of causing harm to no-others, you are free to choose any path you
like.
for once you cause harm to another you have become attached
to their path.
Truth is emboided in actions as well as words.
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
In order to substantiate and maintain Honor,
Kim Possible would never engage in any act that does not perpetuate or pronounce
Truth.
To do otherwise jeopardizes Honor.
And can cause harm to others which can attach your path to theirs until reparation.
Many philosophical and religious disciplines
address Truth and the consequences of abandoning the Truth.
Below are examples.
|
Losing the freedom to choose your path,
or being diverted from the path you have chosen is caused by "Offenses Against Truth". |
|
*"False witness and perjury. When it is made publicly, a statement contrary to the truth takes on a particular gravity. In court it becomes false witness. When under oath, it is perjury. Acts such as these contribute to condemnation or the innocent, exoneration of the guilty, or the increased punishment of the accused. They gravely compromise the exercise of justice and fairness of judicial decisions. Respect for the reputation of persons forbids
every attitude and word likely to cause them unjust injury.
Detraction and calumny destroy the reputation and honor of one's neighbor. Honor is the social witness given to human dignity, and everyone enjoys a natural right to the Honor of his name and reputation and to respect. Thus, detraction and calumny offend against the virtues of justice and charity. Lying is the most direct offense against the Truth. To lie is to speak or act against the Truth in order to lead someone into error. By injuring man's(your) relation to Truth and to his neighbor, a lie offends against the fundamental relation of man (your) relation and his word to the Lord." |
|
When one abandons the Truth at the expense of another,
one becomes attached to the injured's path. |
|
|
*"Since it violates the virtue of truthfulness, a lie does real violence to another. It affects his ability to know, which is a condition of every judgment and decision. It contains the seed of discord and all consequent evils. Lying is destructive of society; it undermines trust among men and tears apart the fabric of social relations. The gravity of a lie is measured against the nature of the Truth it deforms, the circumstance, the intentions of the one who lies, and the harm suffered by its victims. The culpability is greater when the intention of deceiving entails the risk of deadly consequences for those who are lead astray." |
|
Reparation is required,
(after one has become attached to the victim's path due to deceit), to free one's self. |
|
*"Every offense committed against justice and Truth entails the duty of reparation, even if its author** has been forgiven. When it is impossible publicly to make reparation for a wrong, it must be made secretly. If someone who has suffered harm cannot be directly compensated, he must be given moral satisfaction in the name of charity. This duty of reparation also concerns offenses against another's reputation. This reparation, moral and sometimes material, must be evaluated in terms of the extent of the damage inflicted." |
|
There are times when revealing Truth is not appropriate. |

Truth, The Magic Behind, provides the freedom
to live your life as you wish.
That as long as you do not abandon the Truth, your freedom to create your world
is absolute.
"For I say unto you.
That whoever shall say unto a mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe those things those things which he say
shall come to pass;
will have whatsoever he saith."
Rabbi(Teacher) Jesus Christ as quoted by Mark
the Apostle
(Mark 11:23 in the Christian New Testament)
"When
I tell any truth, it is not for the sake of convincing those who do not know
it,
but for the sake of defending those that do." William Blake(6)

** Interesting that the term "author" is used here. It drives home
the point that a lie is something that is created. And that the one
who created it has ownership.
