Kim is on a mission to get a Monkey Statue from
an ancient Monkey Temple in Cambodia. The interior of the temple
has many traps and dangers.
Kim
finds Herself hanging high up on a wall after falling through a
trap door. Around the opening in the wall She is surrounded by venomous
snakes.
As
the snakes strike, Kim lets go falling towards a spike covered floor.
Ignoring
Her fear, She grabs for Her hair tie, loosens it from Her pony tale.
As
She speeds towards the floor, She spies a spike sticking out from
the wall. She loops the hair tie to the spike as She speeds past.
The
hair tie, acting like a bunge cord, stops Kim's fall into the spikes,
and She gently bounces up and down, saved from certain death.

Unless you live the life of a monk (honorable
but boring), things are always going on around you.
The immediate danger of the snakes, falling off the ledge,
and the spikes below would certainly grab your attention.
But Kim ignores these things,
for other than knowing that She wants to avoid them,
they serve no useful purpose.
Kim instead Focuses Her attention on finding
a solution to the immediate problem.
The act of Focusing on solutions and opportunities will set aside the
detractions
that would otherwise prevent or delay you from reaching your goal.
Cliff divers face death each time they
make a dive.
To survive each dive they Focus their attention and their intent.
They Focus their intent through their eyes on the coming and going of
the waves.
They know they must hit the water exactly when the waves' swells are at
the highest.
Any miscalculations can be seriously fatal.
No other internal thoughts exist at that time.
No distractions can make them miss a beat.
Their thoughts are the rhythm of the waves.
Nothing else exists for that moment in time.
And when the rhythm is right... They jump.
Singularly Focusing your mind is easy
to do.
You do it now with many things in your life.
We have all been so Focused on doing something we enjoy that
when someone speaks or walks into the room,
we don't even notice them.
That is Focus.
What you do now can be done with other
things too.
It only takes practice.
Set your goal, Focus your intent on that goal, and practice.
There is no magic, only practice and Focus.
When You Find Yourself
in trouble; Focus, and Your Kimness will Make It Right!

Kim is headed on a mission to investigate a break-in
at a lab in the Amazon.
Wade:
"OK Kim. I can stream you the tape from the security camera
now."
Kim:
Please and Thank You."
Wade:
"This is the lab of Professor Akari."
Kim: "Rewind
and freeze Wade. Who is she... she's good."
Later
deep in the Amazon Rain Forest.
Kim:
"We're Here... Professor
Akari's lab.
Kim:
"What exactly was stolen professor?"
Professor Akari: "That's why I called
you. I don't know. The gangs all here."
Ron:
"Umm, uh huh. Apropos screen saver.
Ron:
"Whoa Whoa Whoa!"
Kim: "Screen Saver..."
Kim replays the streaming video from the security
camera She looked at earlier.
Kim:
"No screen saver."
Kim:
"What's on your computer?"
Professor
Akari: "Well it's very experimental. Uhh... My project!
NO..! They took my tick!"

Kung Fu teaches the importance of taking
in every detail of your surroundings.
In sparring it is critical that every movement of the opponent is observed
and noted.
To miss any nuance of your opponent's actions could mean loss or injury.
Observation and Focus is critical to a successful sparing match.
Kung Fu, as well as other martial arts, uses forms, precise poses and
movements,
to condition the student to Focus not only on themselves and their actions,
but also everything that is going on around them.
Students master concentration and Focus through the mastery of the forms.
Not only physical performance benefits from this mastery,
but mental concentration as well.
Kim Possible is a student of sixteen styles
of Kung Fu.
When Kim first sees the security tape of the brake-in, of course,
most of Her attention is drawn towards the villain, Shego.
Later at Professor Akari's lab when Ron mentions the screen saver on the
computer,
it jogs Kim's memory to something else She noticed when first viewing
the security tape.
In teaching concentration and Focus, Kung
Fu are also teaches to note
the little insignificant things that at the time may seem unimportant.
A sparring opponent will try to use diversionary tactics,
like waving the closest hand or foot,
to draw the attention of the student away from the back foot which is
getting ready to strike.
A good student watches not only those threats in the foreground,
but also those in the background and not so obvious.
When Kim first viewed the tape She noticed
that there was no screen saver
on the computer in the background. A seemingly meaningless detail.
But it was key to Her then asking Professor Akari what was stored on his
computer.
When he checked his computer, it was a computer disk that had been stolen.
Focus is the nature of Kimness that allows
you to gather and record all the information,
even that which is in the background, which you may need to solve any
mystery!
Be
Like Kim and Use Your Focus to Observe and
Record Even Those Things in the Background!

Kim's brothers, Jim and Tim, are flying with Kim
and Ron on their way to a mission. They wonder what's inside a hose
that runs beside their seats to the back of the jet.
Jim:
"Where does this hose go?"
Ron: "To the back of the plane."
Tim: "What does it do?"
Ron: "Airplane stuff."
Jim: "Is it pneumatic or hydraulic?"
Ron: "I don't knowic!"
...
Ron:
"Where are you guys going?"
...
Ron: "Hey, Don't touch that!"
...
Ron: "Kim! They Touched!"
Jim and Tim disconnect the hydraulic line that operate the jet's
control surfaces. The jet spins out of control! Kim climbs out of
the cockpit to see what has happened.
Kim:
"TWEEBS!... JIM! TIM!"
Jim: "We just
wanted to know what was in that hose."
Kim: "WHY?"
Jim: "Because
it was there... It was hydraulic fluid!"
Kim: "And What
Better Way to Find Out!"
Kim
craws to the back of the spinning plane hanging on to the ceiling.
With the hoses flipping around like an un-held fire hose she is
able to grab the two ends and put them together.
Kim: "Come-on... gotch-ya!"

In spite being angry at Her brothers,
which did not fade anytime soon,
Kim is able to Focus, setting Her emotions aside, to solve a very serious
problem,
and save the lives of everyone on the plane.
Life is not lived in a vacuum. There is
always something going on around us.
Sometimes, if not almost always, important chores and tasks have to be
accomplished regardless of what is going on around us.
Olympic gymnasts are a good example.
With hundreds and hundreds of people in the auditorium,
tv cameras and even other events going on;
The gymnast must be able to Focus her intent on the next tumble.
Another good example is chess players.
Chess tournaments are usually played with many players sitting elbow to
elbow
at long tables with many games going on at the same time.
Moves must be calculated in advance of the current position of the pieces
on the board. While considering all possible moves, players cannot hope
of any chance of winning without complete Focus on the game.
His Focus allows the player to figure out the twelfth move in advance
while
keeping moves one through eleven in mind.
A relaxed, Focused mind isolates distractions
and moves them aside.
With practice you won't even have to try to block distractions out.
Your Focus on your goal will set them aside automatically.

Kim, Ron and Monique are going to the movies.
Zeta:
"Can I help you?"
Ron: "I uh. Uh. I, uh."
Zeta: "I'm sorry, could you speak up?"
Ron: "Me-us-ticket?"
Monique: "Mr. Smooth makes his move."
Later at Bueno Nacho, Kim and Monique try
to cheer up Ron after his crash and burn at the ticket counter.
Ron:
"Kim. Truth… I totally choked, didn't I?"
Kim: "I
wouldn't call it choking… exactly."
Monique: "More like a slight
case of…"
(Rufus gives the choke sign.)
Ron: "What kind of a chance do I have with
a girl like that anyway?"
Kim whispering
to Monique: "Honest opinion
or best friend fudge?"
Monique:
"Fudge it girl…."
Kim: "It
doesn't hurt to ask."
Ron:
"You know… Don't play me Kim. There are 'rules' about these kinda
things."
Kim: "Rules?"
Ron: "You know, 'The Rules!'"
Kim: "And
where exactly do you find these 'rules'?"
Ron:
"They're unwritten."
Monique: "Oh. Like don't call a guy the same day you get
his phone number."
Ron: "Ya, that's one. And I don't stand a chance with
that girl.. ah ya, that's another."
Kim: "Ron,
are you going to live in fear just because of some 'rules' that
exist only in your head?"
Later… Ron buys a ticket for almost every
movie playing at the theater so he can see Zeta, who he is crushing
on. Kim shows up at the movies and waits for Ron to come out so
they can go on a mission. Ron freaks out when they walk by Zeta
at the ticket counter.
Kim:
"What are you doing!"
Ron: "She almost saw us."
Kim: "Who!"
Ron:
"Zeta."
Kim: "So?"
Ron: "See it through her eyes
Kim. You-Me-Boy-Girl."
Kim: "Ya, so.!"
Ron: "Seemingly coming out of
a date movie, together."
Kim: "You and me... on a date?"
Ron: "It could happen… You know
I mean not that we would. But if someone didn't know that we were
just best friends and they saw us together at the feel good film
of the year… conclusions may be drawn."
Kim:
"Ya... uh-hu... Ron. I'm gonna say something that I've never
said to you before."
Ron: "What?"
Kim: "You're
thinking too much... Come on Cass-No-Duh."

There are many 'rules' that we have picked
up during our lives.
Some of these rules are good rules that help us maintain our "social contract"
and are necessary in order to have an orderly society.
Other of these rules, however are useless rules.
These useless rules serve only to hold you back,
perpetuate self-doubt and can prevent you from taking advantage
of life's opportunities and reaching your full potential.
These rules can come from many places
and accumulate over a lifetime.
They can come from;
those who mean us harm,
those who mean well but have misconceptions and finally,
they can come from our own misconceptions (or from thinking too much).
Important however, it is not where these
useless rules come from,
what is important is that you remove these rules from your life.
For these rules can cloud your Focus.
You need your Focus to be clear and sharp to hit the target and reach
your goal.
These useless rules can disrupt your Focus and distract your attention.
And as Kim points out to Ron they can
even put you in a place of fear
that can freeze you to inaction.
When you concentrate on sharpening your
Focus be aware of and remove
those bad rules that serve no other purpose than to hold you back
from your destiny and hitting the target.
Which rules do you keep and which rules do you throw away?
You will know by maintaining your Honor.
Those rules that maintain your Honor you will keep,
and those rules that only serve to hold you back you will throw away.
Focus on building your Kimness.
Take Kim's
Advice and Destroy those Rules That Keep you from
Focusing on the Goal!
